Non-Governmental Organizations, Their Mission And Impact In Ghana.

Ghana , a country with immense potential, faces significant development challenges. Despite progress, poverty remains a pressing issue, affecting millions of lives. The Statistics The international poverty rate in Ghana was estimated at 31.4% in 2023, marking a deterioration of 4 percentage points since 2022 (World Bank, 2024).  Approximately 6.9 million people in Ghana lived in extreme poverty in 2024, defined by a threshold of $2.15 U.S. dollars per day (Statista, 2024).  This included around 3.5 million men and 3.3 million women. However , amidst these challenges, non-governmental organizations (NGOs) are making a tangible difference. Through their tireless efforts and charitable works, NGOs are providing essential services, advocating for systemic change, and addressing Ghana's poverty and development issues.
